Delete your account
Applies to the whami app (com.whami.app)
If you still have the app
This is immediate and needs no waiting:
- Open whami.
- Tap your profile picture, top right.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm.
Your account and content are erased the moment you confirm.
If you have already uninstalled it
Email support@whami.io with the subject “Delete my whami account”, from the email address of the Google account you signed in with. We need that to confirm the account is yours.
We will delete it and reply to confirm, within 30 days and usually far sooner.
What deletion removes
- Your name, email address, profile picture and username
- The link between your account and your Google account
- Every clip you posted — the video file, its thumbnail, and the location it was filmed
- Every guess you made, with its score and position
- Your likes and comment reactions
- Who you follow, and any accounts you blocked
- Your notifications and your devices' push notification tokens
What remains, and why
- Comments you left on other people's clips have their text erased and appear as “[deleted]”, with no name attached. The empty placeholder stays so that replies other people wrote underneath it do not disappear too.
- Reports you filed about other content are kept, without your identity attached to them, so that repeat problems can still be recognised.
- Routine server logs may briefly retain a record of requests. They are cleared out on the normal schedule.
Things worth knowing
- It cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no recovery.
- Signing in again starts over. Using the same Google account afterwards creates a new, empty account — it will not restore the old one.
- You are signed out everywhere immediately. Any device still holding a session loses it at once.
